Hearts and Butterflies

 We've been slacking on our bento making this past week due to blizzards and sinus infections... but here are two quick little snack size bentos!

 2 small heart shaped sandwiches, one with cashew butter, one with mango butter... cantaloupe, cheese and walnuts and a macaroon... packed in a Lunchbots Duo

avocado with a container of Braggs Amino Acids (similar to soy sauce with more health benefits!), raisins, cheese, cantaloupe, almonds and butterfly nut butter sandwiches.

a treat for Cash

I have been watching my friends son, Cash since he was 18 months old...He's in Kindergarten now and we consider him part of our family...He came to visit over the weekend, and his mother told me that she's been having a hard time coming up with breakfast, and lunch ideas for Cash... that work for their hurried schedule and don't kill their budget. I decided to help out and made Cash a few quick bentos to help their Monday run a little smoother. I didn't have a ton of groceries on hand, but Cash and I were able to come up with something that he would enjoy taking to school. The kid actually requested a salad!!! ( I LOVE this kid!)

 A friend of mine found these cute Star Wars boxes at Target, and Cash requested a Star Wars theme...I hope he likes them!!!  His Breakfast box (Yoda) has a banana muffin (with a bacon flower!) a few celery sticks, a mini dipper with peanut butter and honey and a small spoon to spread onto the celery (or the muffin!) & half of an orange. Lunch is a salad with fruit and cheese, and another muffin... a few goldfish crackers, nuts, dried fruit and watermelon for snack.

Kiley requested a lady bug theme today for her snack.. she has a fruit salad, a banana muffin and some dry snacks.

~~Mustaches~~

Today is International Fake Mustache Day!! Although I don't really get the whole mustache thing these days, I do think they are very amusing... so we made a few mustache snacks this week!

Here we have a mustached piggy sandwich cut using our CuteZCute cutter, kiwi, blackberries, raisins, tomato and cheese on a stick and a few little star cookies. This is packed in our lego bento box, which I absolutely adore!!! The cute napkin is from Red Poppy.

This is a little mustache sandwich on a bed of berries... with some cheese hearts and cherry tomatoes :)

We made some cheesy mustache crackers using this recipe from Bento For Kidlet . They were so good! Unfortunately they never made it into a bento, the kids gobbled them all up!

Here Kitty, Kitty, Kitty....

A kitty lunch for my little lady... Hello Kitty is made out of rice, and stuffed with umeboshi... decorated with nori, corn and red pepper. More red pepper and broccoli on the side. She also has pineapple, raspberries, a nectarine and a few pretzels.

A little Sunday Madness...

Today is Lewis Carroll's Birthday so we decided to honor one of our favorite movies, Alice in Wonderland, with this impromptu afternoon snack... Kiley has been watching the Disney version almost daily this month, and has decided that she wants a Mad Tea Party for her birthday this year!

In Kiley's Laptop Lunchbox we have... a tribute to the queen of hearts in the yellow section ( jelly sandwich and cut up cheese stick)... a little flower garden in the gelatin....   a little mad tea party in the green section (that's the Mad Hatter's hat, the March Hare and the Door Mouse) and the avocado is a little patch of grass with Mome Raths ;)
